Punch Down Block | Terminal Block | Modular Plug

Punch Down Block Punch Down Block
Punch down blocks are generally chosen to protect equipment connected to incoming central office lines and station lines. The sensitive electronics used in todays telecommunications equipment is easily damaged by voltage suges. When lightning occurs, it need not be from a direct hit. A surge can be induced by the electro-magnetic pulse that radiates in all directions when lightning occurs in the area. Surge protection with low let-thru voltage characteristics should be chosen to properly safeguard telco equipment. Frequently carbon blocks and gas tubes are used to protect incoming telco lines. Gas tubes and carbon blocks generally work poorly with modern telco equipment. Carbon blocks wear out and gas tubes are too slow. Both gas tubes and carbon blocks exhibit dangerously high let-thru voltages when exposed to IEEE test waveshapes.  more

Terminal Block Terminal Block
Many older style phone systems have the phone lines wired to terminal connections. Best Quality Power has a variety of models to protect 1-6 phone lines. This product will reduce maintenance costs and downtime on many phone systems.   more

Modular Plug Modular Plug
For applications that involve less than 6 phone lines, modular jack style Telco TVSS are usually recommended. Most phone systems installed over the last 20 years terminate incoming phone lines into a modular jack at the demarcation point. The Modular Plug TVSS installs easily by simply connecting the telephone modular plugs to the Pure Power Products Telco TVSS and grounding the unit.  more
